Background 

The very popular anime of manga series “One Piece” was created by Eiichiro Oda. The series involves the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who acquired the ability to stretch his body after eating a Devil Fruit called the Gomu Gomu no Mi. At the end of the Grand Line, a treacherous and mysterious sea contains the famous treasure known as One Piece, which Luffy needs to find in order to fulfill his ultimate ambition of becoming the Pirate King.

It is going to be one heck of a ride for the ONE PIECE fans as it has come to Netflix on August 31st, and it’s a major deal since it’s the first-ever live-action adaptation. 

ONE PIECE Netflix cast includes Monkey D. Luffy, played by Inaki Godoy, who is the star of this epic pirate story. He’s on a mission to recruit this fascinating, rather strange gang of future Straw Hat pirates. 

There’s Roronoa Zoro, a ferocious swordsman, played by Mackenyu; Nami, the sly thief, played by Emily Rudd, Usopp, the sharpshooter, role by Jacob Romero; and Sanji, the cooking extraordinaire, played by Taz Skylar. Luffy has a grandiose desire to become King of the Pirates and discover the legendary riches of the infamous Gold Roger, the One-Eyed Pirate.

Monkey D. Luffy (Inaki Godoy)

The lead character of the ONE PIECE is Monkey D. Luffy, a cheerful and fun guy. With the extraordinary power of stretching his body like rubber. He intends to find the ONE PIECE treasure and become the King of Pirates. The most appealing features of this character are optimism and the will to motivate everyone around to follow their dreams. 

According to the team of this series, Godoy was the perfect fit to play the role of Luffy. As they have said, “There was no second choice to him.”

Nami (Emily Rudd)

Next up, in the ONE PIECE cast, we have Nami, which Emily Rudd plays. She is basically a determined thief who resists being close to anybody and carries a Bo Staff as her weapon. The cool and composed burglar of the crew quite makes it an interesting group already.

Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu)

Accorded with another name, “Pirate Hunter,” Roronoa Zora wishes to be the most efficient swordsman of his time. The authenticity that he brings to the character being a Japanese is commendable. 

Usopp ( Jacob Romero)

A storyteller who narrates pirate tales to heal himself and others.  Usopp’s simple yet powerful character is heart-touching, and he also aims to become a great warrior of the sea one day. The one interesting facet about Jacob Romero is his willingness to completely dive into the character as he has himself told Netflix, “The goodness of his heart was so clear to me.” 

Sanji ( Taz Skylar)

This character is slightly different from all others as he is a brilliant chef. Sanji doesn’t wish for fame. Rather, he aims to find ‘All Blue’- basically every chef’s dream. 

Koby ( Morgan Davies)

At first, Koby, a shy and terrified Alvida’s pirate crew member, befriends Luffy. Luffy inspires him to pursue his dream of joining the Marines, and their relationship serves as the first step toward their common goal of bettering the world.

Helmeppo ( Aidan Scott)

Helmeppo, the son of Captain “Axe Hand” Morgan, is characterized as egotistical, bumbling, and pampered. Aidan Scott has described him as a mischievous troublemaker.

 

Vice Admiral Garp ( Vincent Regan)

Vice Admiral Garp, a Marine legend, caught Gold Roger, the famed King of the Pirates. He is adamant about discouraging Luffy from piracy and helps Koby on his Marine journey.

Captain “Axe Hand” Morgan (Langley Kirkwood)

Captain “Axe Hand” Morgan rules over the Marine base with a commanding presence, including a metal jaw and an axe hand. He weaponizes his entire body in order to inspire fear in his son, Helmeppo.

Zeff ( Craig Fairbrass)

Zeff is a surrogate father of Sanji and manages a floating restaurant in the sea named Baratie.  He is a great and quite notable pirate known for blood stains on his boots. 

Shanks (Peter Gadiot)

Shanks is Luffy’s tour guide and the beloved captain of the red-haired pirate crew. He taught them that piracy is more than just fighting and plundering.

Alvida (Ilia Isorelys Paulino)

A fearsome pirate who is ruthless and self-centered. She can do anything to increase her bounty and is very proud of her deeds. 

Buggy The Clown (Jeff Ward)

In his early days as a pirate, Buggy ate the mysterious Devil Fruit called the Chop-Chop Fruit, which gave him the power to separate different parts of his own body. He obtained his incredible talents by eating the fruit, yet the merciless sea has the capacity to rob him of them. Buggy is known for being bizarre and frequently verging on pure madness. The issue of his glaringly unique nose is one that is best avoided in conversation with him.

Klahadore (Alexander Maniatis)

When Usopp visits his longtime buddy Kaya, also known as Celeste Loots, he meets Klahadore for the very first time. In the plot, Kaya is looked after by Klahadore, who has acted as her devoted butler ever since her parents’ terrible deaths.

Arlong ( McKinley Belcher lll)

Arlong has a unique lineage, a hybrid of human and sawfish shark heritage. Renowned as one of the most dreaded pirates in the East Blue, Arlong harbors an intense aversion towards humans and is unrelenting in his pursuit of the legendary treasure known as the One Piece, willing to go to any lengths to attain it.

Dracule Mihawk ( Stewen Ward)

As one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Dracule Mihawk enjoys this title and is unmatched in the ability to navigate the wide oceans with a blade.

Young Luffy (Colton Osorio)

The character of young Luffy, as portrayed by Osorio, has not yet put together his own band of pirates. According to Godoy, who spoke with Netflix, Osorio’s portrayal offers a fascinating and distinctive viewpoint based on the experiences he had as a younger version of himself. This involves developing a close bond with Shanks and eating Gum-Gum Devil Fruit, among other things. Godoy stated his sincere appreciation and respect for Osorio’s portrayal of this role when he was younger.

Young Zoro ( Maximilian Lee Piaza)

In Piazza’s depiction, Zoro’s persona explores the engrossing story of how he came to be the most renowned swordsman in history, solving the puzzles of his incredible trip and the route that brought him to this unmatched mastery of the blade.

Young Nami (Lily Fisher)

One interesting thing about Nami is that, no matter how old she gets, she consistently depicts a great talent for using her skilled fingers to obtain things without paying for them.

Young Usopp  (Kevin Saula)

This character of Saula as a Young Usopp is basically her first professional credit. 

Young Sanji (Christian Convery)

Christian Convery plays the role of a Young Sanji who has strongly disliked oregano since a young age.

This is literally a wholesome treat for all those who have cherished the anime version of the series. People love the whole compilation of the series and call it the ultimate show for all the anime/ Manga fans have ever wanted. It’s quite evident that viewers have gone crazy with ONE PIECE Live Action Netflix series. It’s time you watch yourself!
